NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING. NO INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS. I WILL ALLOW LOCAL PICKUP.This is a mandolin banjo. It is very old, perhaps from the 1920s. It has the brand name ‘Sterling’ on the pegface.
It has an 11 inch Remo Fiberskyn head, 20 hooks, and is 24 inches overall. Birdseye maple pot & neck. It has a brand-new set of Martin strings. The bridge is labeled ‘Grover’. It has nice inlay on the pegface and frets.
I did some internet research, and it seems that the Sterling brand was used by a distributor named Tonk Brothers. It seems possible that this instrument was built by Gretsch, but I can’t be sure.
There is some damage to the ‘Sterling’ logo on the pegface, which is shown in a photo.
This instrument could benefit from some set-up work, and is being sold ‘as-is’, for parts or repair.
It is an old mandolin banjo, and is not perfect. Being sold 'as-is'.
